Youth Prairie Dog (Cynomys) Location: North America Range: United States, Canada, and Mexico
Burrowing rodents native to the grasslands. They are a type of ground squirrel and are considered pests.
Parkour is a training exercise designed to overcome obstacles, the object being to get from one place to another using only the human body and the objects in the environment as fast as possible.
His position in the burrow entrance reminded me of a parkour video I watched once.
What a fantastic photo, this lovely Prairie Dog who is looking into the camera without fear. He looks like he will soon wave his pad and say "come with me in my earth hole"
You did a great job timing this shot, his posture while looking very artistic does not look arduous in any way.
I love the toning of this picture, nice shades of warm ocher which nicely fit with the color of coat. I like the unsharpness of the upper side of the hole although it looks like you added this during post-processing? Anyway it greatly accentuate the hairy skin.
Overall this it a very good photo of a very nice animal which made me smile and that can't be bad
